Summer House, Inc. has had an exciting start to the winter season, marked by our first-ever Ornament Contest and a festive Ugly Sweater Holiday Party hosted by our SLS and CLP programs.
Our Ornament Contest invited all the creative minds and crafters across our Summer House programs to participate. We received several wonderful entries from team members, as well as one special team member and client duo. The result was a collection of beautifully crafted ornaments that truly brought our main office Christmas tree to life. Prizes were awarded for first through third place, with our administrative team serving as the judging panel. The ornaments will remain on display through the end of the month.
Following the contest, our SLS and CLP programs came together to host a fun and festive Ugly Sweater Holiday Party. We were graciously provided a venue by the Episcopal Church of St. Martin’s. Several local businesses: Sacred Soul Vibrations, Soul Garden Holistic Healing, and Raley’s, donated gifts to support clients with basic needs and living expenses, including cleaning supplies, warm slippers, socks, jackets, blankets, and small kitchen appliances. We were also grateful for donations from families and community members.
The evening was filled with laughter and holiday cheer, featuring multiple rounds of Ugly Sweater Bingo, a raffle with prizes, an Ugly Sweater Contest, cookie decorating, and a White Elephant gift exchange that clients were excited to take part in. Guests enjoyed a warm meal that included three kinds of pasta, Caesar salad, dinner rolls, hot chocolate, and dessert. With over twenty clients in attendance, it was truly a night to remember.
Looking ahead, our Davis and Woodland Summer House programs will be hosting their holiday parties this week and next.
This time of year is a great reminder of what truly matters: people. At Summer House, we pride ourselves not only on providing support and services, but also on creating meaningful memories with and for our clients.
Happy Holidays.
